Love

Our culture would have us think that love is subjective. Isn't that the heart of the gay marriage issue today. Everyone asks, if they love each other, shouldn't they be allowed to do what they want? Can a man love a tree? Or why are two cousins not allowed to marry? Notice that there is an objective understanding of love in some aspects according to nearly all people. Most all will say a brother and sister who say they love each other and want to get married are missing an aspect of love. If they really loved each other, then they would want what was best for each other. Most all would say written into that is the idea that what is best for each other is not marriage. Why do all people and the state say that a brother and sister can't marry? There is an idea that some aspect of love is not just based upon what you think or I think but is objective for all people. Why? The Procreative aspect of love is integral and central, not just unitive. If love was just about the unitive aspect, then it would

Grading your Project: Objective vs Subjective

We live in an "I think" culture. Have you ever thought about that? Every where, it is I think this, and I think that. If you think one thing, that is ok, as long as you let me think my thing. Subjectivity is all about the reality of the world based upon the subject; I think the world is this way, and I am going to live by my belief. Objectivity is the reality of the world based upon reality. Today's culture is relativistic. That means that our culture

Grading your Project: 21st Century Education

The idea for this project is to integrate the 4 Cs. What are the 4 Cs you might ask? The four Cs are the major points of 21st century education that's needed to succeed in the workplace. The four Cs are those valuable characteristics of the effective and productive 21st century individual. Most businesses and companies look for people who are competent in these areas.

So what are they? They are critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity.  Each one of these, along with knowing the content, are essential for succeeding in any

Catholic Church and Marriage

It seems as though there is a lot of talk about marriage these days.  Looking at the issues in the news, I can see why there is.  Equal marriage is what the political title is.  I thought I would say a word on the Catholic view of marriage for us to be clear on its stance on the issue.  The Catholic view, plain and simple, is that Marriage is a covenant that has God as its origin.  That being the case, it is something we do not change, we accept.  Where do we see God as it's origin?  In the beginning, Genesis, we see God creating Adam and Eve for each other.  Marriage is the proper place for the mutual love between two people, man and woman, established by God, faithful, lasting, and where children are raised and where they come form.  More to follow...

Sample Post: Holiness

I've always wondered about that kneeling stuff that all those Catholics do.  Is that seriously a way to holiness?  It seems more like a bunch of sheep doing what they do, not knowing why they do it.  When I looked into it, I discovered

About the Project

This project I believe will be cool.  The background for the project is as follows: In our Catholic Theology class, we receive a wealth of information. Sometimes it can go in one ear and out the other.  However, often (as far as I believe and know) we receive information

About Looks

A major aspect of your blog is outreach.

The task of this project is to get it out there and make your blog real.  Brainstorm ways in which you can make your blog popular and read by others.  If this is your task, it is necessary that you write it in such a way that others will want to come back. A blog that is just random stuff thrown together or one that has no deep thought won't cut it.

Another major aspect of your blog is the professional look.

This being the case, together
